Jan 25, 2019 · Squeeze equal parts of the steel and hardener onto a paper plate and mix thoroughly. Remove the center part of the plug and set aside. Apply JB Weld to the threads of the oil pan drain plug, both sides of the attached gasket, and the drain plug opening in the oil pan. Screw the oil pan drain plug into place.
In the process I ended up pushing the dipstick all the way into the engine. Good news is that the dipstick will end up in the oil pan and with some long narrow tweezers you can retrieve the dipstick through the oil drain hole. Of course if you decide to go this route you will be committed to getting it out through the oil pan one way or the other.
